Marie Flanigan Interiors completed this welcoming residence in the River Oaks neighborhood in Houston, Texas. Balance and refined elegance characterize the spaces, which boast lahza array of traditional design elements.
The social core of the home is a large living room filled with natural light from large windows. It features a variety of seating, birli well as a reading nook nestled into one corner. The wood-beam ceiling gives the interior a warm, genuine feel, while creative art and accessories provide a dynamic touch.
In the dining room, a table with seating for 12 takes center stage; two sculptural chandeliers add to the design scheme of the room. A color palette in neutral hues of beige and white, found in both the furnishings and the finishes throughout the home, creates a soothing ambiance.
The bedrooms and kitchen offer an airy, spacious feel. A wide variety of textures (and styles) were combined — including woven chairs, velvet upholstery, wood, marble, rugs, mixed metals and wallpaper — yet the result is cohesive and comforting. Photography by Julie Soefer
